An analytic derivation of the empirical correlations of gamma-ray bursts

چکیده
Empirical correlations between various key parameters have been extensively explored ever since the discovery of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) and widely used as standard candles to probe Universe. The Amati relation Yonetoku are two good examples that enjoyed special attention. former reflects connection peak photon energy (Ep) isotropic $\gamma$-ray release (Eiso), while latter links Ep with luminosity (Lp), both in form a power-law function. Most GRBs found follow these well, but theoretical interpretation is still lacking. Some obvious outliers may be off-axis different from those at on-axis. Here we present simple analytical derivation for framework fireball model, correctness which then confirmed by numerical simulations. also derived. They differ markedly corresponding on-axis relation. Our results reveal intrinsic physics behind radiation processes GRBs, they highlight importance viewing angle empirical GRBs.

Testing for Extragalactic Correlations of Gamma-Ray Bursts
If gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) are cosmological they need not necessarily be spatially coincident with a host galaxy—in many cosmological models the progenitors are ejected to large distances from their parent galaxies. While the optical transient of GRB 970228 may be close to a faint galaxy, there are several other galaxies in the field which could be the host if the progenitors are ejected to ∼ 5...
متن کاملEnergetics - Spectral correlations vs the BATSE Gamma-Ray Bursts population
Recently proposed correlations between the energetics of Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRB) and their spectral properties, namely the peak energy of their prompt emission, are found to account for the observed fluence distribution of all ‘bright’ BATSE GRB. Furthermore for an intrinsic GRB peak energy distribution extending toward lower energies with respect to that characterizing bright GRB, such correlat...
متن کاملExtremely energetic Fermi Gamma – Ray Bursts obey spectral energy correlations
The origin, reliability and dispersion of the E p,i – E iso and other spectral energy correlations is a highly debated topic in GRB astrophysics. GRB 080916C, with its huge radiated energy (E iso ∼ 10 55 erg in the 1 keV – 10 GeV cosmological rest–frame energy band) and its intense GeV emission measured by Fermi, gives us a unique opportunity to further investigate this issue. We also include i...
متن کاملGamma-ray bursts spectral correlations and their cosmological use.
The correlations involving the long-gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) prompt emission energy represent a new key to understand the GRB physics. These correlations have been proved to be the tool that makes long-GRBs a new class of standard candles. Gamma Ray Bursts, being very powerful cosmological sources detected in the hard X-ray band, represent a new tool to investigate the Universe in a redshift ran...
